The Nutcracker & Performance Classes
In addition to the demonstration of classroom exercises performed by all ballet classes as part of our Spring Performance, all students in Elementary Ballet and above will have the opportunity to audition to be in The Nutcracker and may choose to be in an additional and longer piece in our School Performance in May by enrolling in the Performance Class appropriate to their class level. These classes will meet for one hour per week during which time The Nutcracker (in the fall) and other ballets (in the spring) will be choreographed or staged for the students to perform. There will be an additional expense for costumes for the May performance to be determined at a later date.
The Performance Classes at the beginning of the school year will serve as Nutcracker auditions. After parts are assigned, your weekly rehearsal time may not be the same as the Spring Performance rehearsal times in the schedule.
The Nutcracker will be performed December 14 and 15, 2007 at McAlister Auditorium, Furman University. Rehearsals at the theatre will be December 11, 12 and 13. Additional rehearsals will be held on December 1 and 8, 2007.
The Spring Performance will be Saturday, May 17 at McAlister Auditorium, Furman University. Spring Performance rehearsal will be Wednesday, May 14 at McAlister Auditorium, Furman University.
Ballet classes will be assigned to the Performance Classes for Spring as follows:

Elementary Ballet -> Performance Elementary
Intermediate I & II -> Performance Intermediate I & II
Intermediate III -> -> Junior Company/Performance Intermediate III
Advanced Ballet -> -> Performance Company 1, 2, 3
