The Greenville Ballet School offers a graded curriculum of
professional-quality instruction in the art and technique of Classical Ballet, with supplemental classes in Pointe, Pilates and Modern Dance. Our G.b.2 competition division offers technique classes and competition teams in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical.
Our ballet students have gone on to dance professionally in companies
including the Merce Cunningham Dance Co. (NYC), Alvin Ailey American Dance
Co. (NYC), Martha Graham Dance Co. (NYC), Ft. Worth Ballet, Ballet West
(Salt Lake City), Sacramento Ballet, Lexington Ballet, Charleston Ballet
Theatre, and the Rockettes, and have performed in Broadway touring productions
including 42nd Street and The Lion King. Younger students are regularly
accepted and even offered scholarships to the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts, Boston Ballet School, the
Houston Ballet Academy, the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Joffrey
Ballet School in New York City, the North Carolina School of the Arts,
and the famous School of American Ballet in New York City.
Although we call ourselves a Ballet School, we offer a variety of classes in many dance forms and styles while being mindful that all dance forms are based on and aided by the study of Classical Ballet. Whether it's a ballet class or a competition team, we offer a qualiity experience in a quality environment. You
will not find concrete floors, low ceilings, sixteen-year-old
students teaching your child, eight- and nine-year-olds en pointe, or combination classes (where more than one form is taught in an hour class).
What you will find is real ballet training taught by experienced teachers who were professional dancers; careful, disciplined instruction, with love (we’re parents
too), and a purposeful
effort at making it fun as well; and a competition division that realizes the value of a ballet base, respects the students, and deals with parents honestly and openly.
